What can we say about the name except that it is a must to try, to see, to experience.

Started By the well known Neil Stemmet in 1985 and built up to a restaurant that has an national and internationally renowned reputation to this day. Le Must is well known for it's local cuisine incorporating well known international dishes and giving it a classic kalahari, northern cape boere-twist. Now under the ownership of the Longland family which is also well known in this area, not just amongst the local farming community but also amongst the locals in Upington and in the surrounding areas. Inus Longland is a well known wine guild member and as a founding member of the guild has complete and firm control about the wines we have on our wine list, Anna Longland is in charge of finances and accounts and also has a very impressive resume when it comes to the accounting part of businesses as she is an accountant for four businesses including Le Must Restaurant. David Longland, whom is managing the restaurant has been in the restaurant industry for fifteen years, managing and working in restaurants across southern Africa and Europe, also specializing as a sommelier for the celebrity cruises specialty restaurants on board.

As the Longland family we welcome and invite you to come and experience the excellent food, quality and service found in an intimate old style ambiance. Our chef, Zanny Strauss, whom studied at one of the best chef schools in the country, Warwick Chef School in Hermanus,  is in charge of the Le must kitchen. Young, spirited and innovative she has a firm control over the recipes and specialities offered in Le Must. Your comments are greatly appreciated, so are your criticisms!
